Given that the aim was to recreate the terrain as exactly as possible, a scaleable system was needed to model the terrain contours. The Kallistra Hexon Terrain system fitted the brief perfectly. The Marne region comprises large relatively flat plateaus in between the deep river valleys with steep sides. The Hexon Terrain pieces enabled us to create the plateaus quickly and easily, using the single Hexon hexagon pieces to supplement the larger ones for modelling the contours more precisely. The clips locked the Hexon pieces together. The single and double height slope hexes made it easier to model the steep sides of the river valleys.
More than 22 Hexon box sets were needed to model all of the terrain.
