The German centre and right have continued to push forward. There has been a steady build-up of forces around Soizy-aux-Bois. Both sides have been using the extensive cover to facilitate movement but the defensive effects of the woods make it hard to achieve any decisive results. Although more forces have crossed in the centre, their progress is slow across the open ground. The German column on the left took a fearsome pounding. The leading companies have been decimated by converging rifle and machine gun fire. The French commander is continuing to shift forces from the eastern flank towards the greater threats to Mondement and Soizy-aux-Bois.
